What is Red Ribbon Week?

What is Red Ribbon Week?

10/29/24

SMA Healthcare provides high quality client-oriented services that are tailored to meet everyone’s needs. From prevention services to peer counseling, SMA strives to create an environment of open conversation and easily accessible services.

Red Ribbon Week was created by the National Family Partnership following the death of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena. Red Ribbon Week aims to raise awareness about drug, alcohol, and tobacco use.

From October 23rd to the 31st, parents, teachers and those in the community come together to share a drug-free message to today’s youth. Red Ribbon Week was created to provide healthy lifestyle options for everyone and educate those who may not understand the dangers of drug-use.

Here at SMA, we participate in Red Ribbon Week to bring more awareness and information to our surrounding community.

Recovery can be a long, challenging process, but there is always help. If you or a loved one is struggling with substance use or mental health issues, SMA Healthcare has a variety of services to assist in your recovery. Call 800-539-4228 or visit smahealthcare.org.
