A Message from the Chairman of the Board
Andrew Gurtis, Chairman of the Board
The mission of the SMA Healthcare Foundation is to foster relationships to increase community awareness and support for services provided by SMA Healthcare. Founded in 1998 by the late Jim Foster, the SMA Foundation has surpassed its initial goals in support of substance abuse and mental health services in the communities we serve. And now the need for those services is greater than ever; so our efforts continue.
In the spirit of “time, treasure and talent”, we invite individual and corporate involvement at every level. Each of us has experienced, either with ourselves or a loved one, a challenge with addiction or mental health issues. The impact those challenges have on our lives and community can be devastating. But with SMA Healthcare and its Foundation we offer answers to some of life’s toughest questions. The commitment of SMA’s staff and volunteers, combined with the resources you provide, will change the lives of many affected by addiction and/or mental illness. You’ve found our website. Please take that next step of offering your support. For that we thank you.
The SMA Healthcare Foundation is a single purpose foundation existing to support SMA Healthcare. The Foundation focuses on building resources to complement the programs of SMA, providing advocacy, community education, and funds to conduct research.
