The Board of Directors for both the Volusia Flagler Family YMCA (VFYMCA) and Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation (SMAF) have agreed to proceed with The Rematch After Rio Charity Swim event. The funds raised with this event will go to support the important outreach of both organizations and positively impact our community.
Via a joint statement, VFYMCA Board Chairman Rufus Johnson and SMAF Board Chairman Melissa Murphy said “The YMCA and Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation are excited for the opportunity to showcase exceptional local talent while raising funds to support the Ormond Beach YMCA’s capital campaign and SMA’s Huger Adolescent Campus at Tiger Bay.”
Charlie Lydecker remains in full support of this event, adding “Ryan is a Local celebrity athlete who has done much good for his sport and community for over 14 years and he made a mistake. I stand by him and am ready to move forward with this fun event for two worthy causes.”
Sponsors of the event also remain committed to supporting both community agencies. “Stonewood Grill & Tavern as a business, and I personally, are unwavering in our support of these two fine organizations, the Y and Stewart-Marchman-Act, who work hard every day helping our community be a healthier place to live. We are looking forward to a fun and successful event.” said Gale Lemerand, Chairman of Stonewood Holdings.
