Hyatt & Cici Brown Donate $500,000 for West Volusia Outpatient Center, Expanding and Consolidating SMA Healthcare Services

April 18th

Hyatt & CiCi Brown recently donated $500,000 to the SMA Healthcare Foundation to support SMA Healthcare’s new, state-of-the-art integrated healthcare facility in West Volusia County.

Thanks to their generous gift and other funding sources, 60% of the necessary funds needed, to complete the West Volusia Outpatient Center being constructed on Stone Street in DeLand, have been secured.  The center will not only consolidate SMA services already being provided throughout the west side of the county, but expand it to include primary care and a pharmacy.  The University of Florida will have an office on site, building on the current partnership between UF and SMA in the field of behavioral health research.

“The Foundation is immensely grateful for the donation from Hyatt and Cici Brown and others” said, Brooks Casey, Board Chair of the SMA Healthcare Foundation. “Our community will benefit immensely through their support and the enhancement of services to individuals in need.”

A donor wall has been designed for the first-floor lobby of the new facility, highlighting and recognizing all gifts designated to the project over $25,000.  Anyone interested in learning more about supporting this development, or other SMA services should contact Jennifer Secor, Executive Director, at 386-254-1139.

Hyatt Brown shared, “Cici and I feel privileged to be able to support SMA, an organization that provides so many quality programs, to improve the lives of individuals and families in our community who are impacted by mental illness and substance use disorders.”
