SMA Healthcare celebrated the grand opening ceremony of the new West Volusia Outpatient facility in DeLand on Tuesday, December 2.
“This was an incredible day for SMA Healthcare,” said CEO Ivan Cosimi. “This celebration is the culmination of years of planning, collaboration, and hard work. We are grateful for all the contributions that helped make this facility a reality and look forward to serving this community in an even greater capacity.”
Elected officials, donors, community partners, SMA Healthcare and SMA Healthcare Foundation Board members, and SMA Healthcare team members were all in attendance to celebrate this momentous occasion. Speakers during the event included SMA Healthcare Chairman of the Board Dr. Salman Ahmed, SMA Healthcare CEO Ivan Cosimi, SMA Healthcare COO Nicole Sharbono, and City of DeLand Mayor Christopher Cloudman.
This facility will expand healthcare opportunities for clients in West Volusia who are currently traveling far or even leaving the county for services. With the increased access to behavioral health resources, clients will be able to receive mental health outpatient services, substance use treatment, and a variety of other services in a centralized location.
At this location, with over 18,000 square feet, SMA Healthcare will be able to provide to provide outpatient behavioral health services including mental health and substance use therapy, psychiatric medication management, case management, and medication assisted treatment. Primary care services and a pharmacy will be coming soon. In addition, here are a few other highlights of the new facility.
