WARM
WARM at VCS is a women’s residential treatment center which offers two levels of care for women who are exhibiting symptoms of addiction and other related or co-occurring symptoms. The Level II program is a 60-bed long term residential program for women. The average stay for this level of care is 6 months to 1 year. This program provides treatment for women, some of whom may be pregnant, or parenting young children. Children age 5 and under may reside with their mother in the program. While the mothers are receiving treatment services, their children receive on-site care from Easter Seals’ Child Development Center. Children over age 5 may visit on weekends.
The Level I program is an 8-bed residential treatment program for women, some of whom may be pregnant. This program is designed to be slightly more clinically intensive yet shorter in duration (30-60 days).
Crisis Triage and Treatment Unit
The Crisis Triage and Treatment Unit (CTTU) is a program that was designed to meet the mental health and substance abuse crisis service needs of Flagler County. Local Hospitals, local law enforcement agencies, and CTTU work in alliance to ensure immediate availability of crisis services, crisis screening and triage, crisis intervention & management and transportation. The CTTU program was developed to be responsive to the needs of Flagler County’s diverse community. This program also serves self-referral clients for screening, triage and referral, court ordered and other community referred behavioral screenings for mental health and/or substance abuse. CTTU supports SMA’s mission in its collaboration with law enforcement entities, social service agencies, Baker-Act receiving facilities, regional behavioral health & alcohol/drug treatment providers, and SMA shareholders.
Crisis Response Team
Our Crisis Response Team cares for individuals of all ages in Volusia and Flagler counties who are feeling depressed, alone, suicidal, or bullied. If you or someone you know is feeling or experiencing any of these issues, they do not have to go through this alone. We can help and are here for them 24/7. We encourage any individual who needs our help to call our Helpline at (800) 539-4228.
Care Coordination
Care Coordination offers assistance to clients in linking to resources in the community, which can include mental health, substance abuse, employment, housing, and socialization services. The goal of this program is to help avoid subsequent crisis or detox admissions. Eligible clients are those who have been recently discharged from inpatient stays that may need assistance ensuring linkage to appropriate resources to keep them out of the hospital, detox, or jail for more intensive treatment. We can also accept clients from outpatient services if they present to be in possible crisis and we can de-escalate those situations to prevent CSU or detox admission.
Zero Suicide Care Coordination
Zero Suicide Care Coordination is a multi-county initiative to provide services that specifically addresses clients in jail or veterans, ages 25 or older, who have a history of suicidal ideation or attempts. This program, which began in September of 2018, has allowed SMA Healthcare to hire a Zero Suicide Care Coordinator in each of the four counties that SMA Healthcare offers services in. The Zero Suicide Care Coordinators work with their local county jail and hospital to provide Care Coordination.
Outreach Coordination
The Outreach Coordinator will perform a host of activities, beginning with greeting clients who walk in to or call the Flagler Access Center. Outreach Coordinator will ask the client a few introductory questions in order to link the client with appropriate services. The Outreach Coordinator will work with the client to navigate any barriers to services and work to overcome those barriers, and remain connected. The Outreach Coordinator will also attend community events to educate Flagler County on the services offered through the Flagler Access Center.
Walk-In Screenings
This screening will allow the screener to determine what services are needed for the client; the client will then be linked to those services. Screenings are available Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, at 103 E. Moody Boulevard.

Medication Management
The Physician Services Medication Outpatient Program (Med Management) provides medical and clinical support services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders. The goal is recovery and reconnection to the community. Services include psychiatric evaluation, treatment planning, medication management, nursing services, therapy, and targeted case management.
FACT*
Florida Assertive Community Treatment program provides comprehensive support services to individuals who have severe and persistent mental illness and have had multiple psychiatric hospitalizations. Team members personally deliver a wide scope of services and crisis assessment and intervention 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. With most services being provided in the community, individuals who might otherwise be relegated to life-long hospital stays are able to maintain independent living in the community of their choice.
Mental Health & Substance Abuse Therapy for Adolescents and Adults
MH Therapy (OP):
Serves adults 18 years and older with any mental health diagnosis. MH Therapy targets symptoms management, coping skills and improving healthy relationships and quality of life. Services include individual therapy, group therapy, individualized treatment plans and treatment plan reviews all provided by a licensed therapist. Based on individual preference, family participation in treatment, family educational and counseling services are provided to support the family and quality of life.
SA Therapy (OP):
Adult Outpatient is for adults 18 years old and older who are participating in DUI, dependency drug courts, probation and voluntary. AOP Services provide individual therapy, group therapy, individualized treatment plans and treatment plan reviews all provided by a licensed therapist. Family participation in treatment is encouraged, and family educational and counseling services are provided to support the family in the recovery process. Outpatient services allow the individual to remain active with work, family and the community while they participate in treatment.
Adolescent Therapy (OP):
Adolescent Outpatient Program services include individual therapy with family involvement. Treatment is specifically directed toward repairing relationships, reducing impulsivity, developing social and life skills, and providing treatment interventions for the youth to remain substance-free. The clients served, receive comprehensive clinical services, which include SA evaluation, treatment planning, group and individual therapy, and support from Life Coach. The goals of the program include establishing long-lasting recovery from drugs and alcohol and rebuilding a person’s skills to facilitate recovery and reconnection to the community.
